How do you guys feel about this genre? Explosions and whatever's cool sometimes on long car rides but I usually don't have enough patience haha.

Love Explosions In the Sky and a couple other random bands like Constants, Saxon Shore, Moving Mountains. Junius and Caspian are good bands too.

i wouldnt consider Moving Mountains a 'post rock' band. i consider them a band that was pop punk then discovered delay pedals. (not saying anything bad about them the one record is pretty good).
i love explosions in the sky and i'm not sure what else to classify as this though.

It's a hard genre to classify correctly I've noticed. A lot of bands have elements of it but aren't considered as such - i.e. Telescreen, Alcest, (Damn) This Desert Air, the last Codeseven record. Spacy and ambient rock in general I've noticed sometimes is considered "post rock".

Outside of explosions, mogwai and Godspeed I know very little about the genre.
Also, didn't explosions disband recently?

...Of Sinking Ships is a really good post rock/instrumental band. Featuring ex members of Hopesfall.

They're touring and working on a new album. I dig God Is an Astronaut and 65daysofstatic. Check out Prawn(www.myspace.com/prawnnj).
